We all scream for ice cream

LOVE IT - Forgot how ace this film is. Tom Waits is just awesome

this magical sadness which spoke straight to the heart and struck silence

Two sad things in two days

I finished a Tale of Two Cities and found myself totally in tears reading it on the train.
+ last night's trip to the Barbican to see The Illusionist.

Don't go and see it if you are at all sad. I had to be taken home weeping.

Darling!

I thought this would be great... Dirk Bogarde + Julie Christie + set in London & Italy in the 1960's. I didn't expect it to become my favorite film ever. It's just awesome. When I researched it I found a review from Time Out giving it 0 stars and saying it was the most rubbish thing that reviewer had ever seen - crazy how different people's tastes are.

I'm open to the fact that maybe it was the perfect film for my mood on that particular day, but I'm dying to watch it again and a little part of me is sure I have found a new favorite.

Kissing in a train carriage, cigarette in one hand, Julie Christie in the other... I think that's the definition of cool.

The wardrobe (especially for Dirk) is spot on. Slightly too short trousers, cardigan and a tie. I'm slightly obsessed, although not quite obsessed as this lady

The shout

Wow, I just watched this kind of by accident, I didn't know it was horror film, but it's great.
It's about a man that can kill people with his shout... another one of those films that totally wouldn't get made now days.

Greenberg

My favorite film so far of this year...

Greta Gerwig is amazing & some bits were so bitter sweetly true that it made my heart hurt...

VICTIM

I'm slowly discovering Dirk Bogarde after reading his autobiography, and the more I see the more I think he is amazing.
I have just watched his film Victim twice because it was so good. It's gone into my 10 ten favorites ever - beautifully shot, awesome London locations and the story is just so good, I can't believe it was made in 1961...

La caduta degli dei

The film was received as a masterpiece, and at the finale, as the lights came up in the vas audiorium, Fellini leapt from his seat in the stalls and facing us he saluted visconti with the great cry of 'Il maestro! Il maestro"

Snakes and Ladders - Dirk Bogarde

Edith Head

Another beautiful film

The Birds. I'm going to investigate Edith Head next...

re-discovering

Watching The Royal Tenenbaums again made me remember how much I really love Wes Anderson. Every frame is beautifully composed and all the details so perfect.

Eiko Ishioka

What an amazing woman...

Why is a raven like a writing desk?

I loved, loved, loved Alice in Wonderland. The costumes were beyond beautiful, the casting amazing and the story just so lovely. (I really think I'm still a seventeen year old girl at heart).

micmacs

I want to help the children

the innocents

Lots of men...

A SINGLE MAN

Amazing, amazing film.

So beautifully shot, amazingly acted and perfectly styled. I loved this

WOLF MAN ...

The set design in this was cool, but the wolf transformation and the story not so cool.
