Lecture

Edmund De Waal talking to A S Byatt about making. A little on the the pretentious side, but really interesting. (more about the lecture here)

Christmas comes but once a year...

And when it does it brings good cheer...
Especially in the Academy offices when there is a giant tree left over from the Sainsbury's shoot.

One of those that makes you have the discussion..."you would never get that film made nowadays..."

I also love the comment underneath that trailer on youtube....

The Flight from the Enchanter

"The surface of the desk was not visible. In places the books lay three or four deep. The floor was also littered with books. The room must have contained some three thousand volumes, of which at least a hundred were open, some lying horizontal, some at an angle of forty five degrees, and others vertical, opened at a favorite illustration and perched on top of bookshelves or supported ingeniously by pieces of string. The shelves reached in most places to the celling. Any space which remained was covered with photographs of statues or reproductions of paintings pinned edge to edge."

Productive Sunday

Hammer Poster exhibition at the Idea Generation Gallery in the east end (see here)

Then because Brick lane was a) too crowded and b) would encourage me to spend money we went to the Mexican Print exhibition at The British Museum (info here)
As we passed Magma this was in the window - one of my favorite images from the exhibition...

Then to the cinema to see Could Souls. Which doesn't deserve a picture as it wasn't very good and the man sitting in front of us smelt really trampy.
