Green Fingers

I haven't killed the plants in my window box yet, in fact they are looking OK. I also planted some seeds and they are springing up!

Two sad things in two days

I finished a Tale of Two Cities and found myself totally in tears reading it on the train.
+ last night's trip to the Barbican to see The Illusionist.

Don't go and see it if you are at all sad. I had to be taken home weeping.

Darling!

I thought this would be great... Dirk Bogarde + Julie Christie + set in London & Italy in the 1960's. I didn't expect it to become my favorite film ever. It's just awesome. When I researched it I found a review from Time Out giving it 0 stars and saying it was the most rubbish thing that reviewer had ever seen - crazy how different people's tastes are.

I'm open to the fact that maybe it was the perfect film for my mood on that particular day, but I'm dying to watch it again and a little part of me is sure I have found a new favorite.

Kissing in a train carriage, cigarette in one hand, Julie Christie in the other... I think that's the definition of cool.

The wardrobe (especially for Dirk) is spot on. Slightly too short trousers, cardigan and a tie. I'm slightly obsessed, although not quite obsessed as this lady

How to tell the birds from the flowers

Everyone loves getting post - for me it's recently got more interesting since I started freelancing (yay! - a cheque!) and joined lovefilm (yay! - a DVD!) . But the best little package was waiting for me this morning. Lovely Kate of Wisdom sent me this little gem - A handy guide for if you have problems with telling birds apart from flowers...

window box

A trip to Columbia Road flower market revived my flagging window box...

LOVE SHACK!

I have been doing a bit of work for the lovely Shoot Experience who held an event called the Love Shack at the Big Chill festival this year and I designed the logo for them.

I painted it onto the sign for the tent and they made it into temporary tattoos - how ACE!

(These photos are from here taken by shoot experience)

The work in progress - painted on a very hot dusty afternoon in Dalston - refreshment was provided by a very cool man who turned up with three beers packed Tardis-like in his bumbag.

Good for the soul

After the sadness of the last few weeks it was awesome to hang out with the two cutest skater girls I have ever met.

So amazing to be in their lovely studio with lots of ice cream, chocolate sauce, fruit crumble and lame Friday night TV.

Love it

Third post about this film

Gainbourg.

Finally saw it. Totally loved it... Quite want to watch it again...

Saturday of nice...

Fete at the Waterpoet pub.
Cute bunting and balloon overload, a quick game of dominoes, a delicious elderflower cocktail, then stuck into the serious business of learning Backgammon - of which I am now slightly addicted.

Later a walk over the bridge at Embankment gave me a glimpse of this sky - awesome!
